Business Analytics Capstone BAIS:4150
I had the honor to learn and help the Iowa Heartlanders in expanding their attendance threshold. I was tasked with analyzing ticket sale and attendance trends in response to factors including the presence of certain players, win records and promotional programs. Alongside four other individuals, I was able to put my analytical skills to use to explore the factors that influence ticket sales and attendance.
Marketing Capstone MKTG:4500
Alongside five other individuals, we explored office depots marketing throughout history as well as the current standing and what changes they could make using factors such as Market Rejuvenation, Management Audits, Segmetation and Positioning, Brand Extensions and more! This was a very insightful project to take familiar businesses and learn about how we can improve it based on everyday marketing strategies.
Operations Management BAIS:3000
We took on this project as a team of five to explore the COVID Toilet Paper Shortage and how business must manage this from the standpoint of operating a business. We explored the trends of the exact effect the pandemic had on the product, issues businesses had as well as methods to combat the problems.
Business Communication and Protocol BUS:3000
To develop my Business Communication and Presentation skills, I had the joy to join three other individuals in exploring the company of Netflix and Sony Pictures and the benefits of a mock merger. This project helped me develop my in depth reporting skills.
Computational Thinking BAIS:3020
Through our computational thinking course, we got to use kaggle data to form analysis on our given topic. Our team focused on New York Real Estate Pricing for a potential new resident with given circumstances as well as afforable pricing. Through using Python, the team was able to pin point exact neighborhoods for our client.
Marketing Sales and Promotion MKTG:4450
I had the privilege to work with a team to assist TransAmerica insurance company in improving their 401k programs to better retain their new hires who have the option to opt in or out of their plans with their employer. We as marketing sales students were happy to explore the problem at hand and work closly to recommend TransAmerica methods for this higher retention rate.
Intro to Marketing Strategy MKTG:3000
To kickstart my Marketing studies, I took part in a project as the company P&G to rejuvenate their popular product, the Gillete Razor. As a team of five, we created "The Lazor" as a long term, electric razor that permanently removes mens hair to reduce wasteage and frequency of purchase for a one time higher price. This creative project was exciting to take part in and try product design!
In the variety of data anlytics, one thing I got to learn as a BAIS student at Iowa was Data Modeling. Through the Data Mining course, I got to learn how to take data from Kaggle and Model it for further analysis using orange. For this project, my team and I took airline satisfaction data and created recommendations to the airline for improved satisfaction. We practiced client to analyst relationships as well as put our learning to use.
